Millennium Corporation Supports the Marine Corps Annual Toys for Tots Program

ARLINGTON, VA. - Millennium Corporation employees throughout the Northwest, Midwestern, and Capital Regions collected toys for underprivileged children in the nation’s capital by donating to the Marine Corps 2008 Toys for Tots program.

Millennium Corporation employees dropped off toys at our annual Holiday Party on December 13, 2008 in support of the Toys for Tots Program. The toys were donated from employees at offsite locations including, New Jersey, Michigan, and Alabama. This was our first year participating in this charitable event and it we are most certain that it won’t be our last.

The Toys for Tots program dates back to 1947 when Major Bill Hendricks, USMCR and a group of Marine Reservists in Los Angeles collected and distributed 5,000 toys to needy children. Since adopted by the US Marine Corps, every year there after the Toys for Tots program collects new, unwrapped toys from October until December, for distribution to disadvantaged children in the community.
